WHICH DOCUMENTS ARE NECESSARY TO ENTER THE MALDIVES?

Your passport will be sufficient, which must have a minimum of 6 months’ validity from the date of departure from Malé.

 

IS A VISA NECESSARY?

There is no visa required to enter the Maldives. There is just an ‘Arrival Form’ to fill out, which will be given to you in the airplane. This allows you to stay in the Maldives up to 30 days from the day of arrival.

 

WHAT IS THE BEST TIME TO TRAVEL?

You can travel the Maldives all year.

The temperature is stable throughout the year and fluctuates between 26 °C and 32 °C. The water temperature is constantly around 28 °C.

There are two different seasons:

November – April: the “dry season”

May – October: “Surf season” or also called “wet season” (but it doesn’t mean, that it is raining every day – the possibility of rain is just higher)

 

HOW LONG IS THE TRANSFER FROM THE AIRPORT TO THULUSDHOO?

The transfer from the airport to Thulusdhoo takes round about 30 minutes with the speed-boat.

 

IS THIS VACATION SUITABLE FOR CHILDREN?

Considering the long flight and the warm tropical weather, we recommend this trip for children from 3 years.

If you want to bring younger children, consult us and we will evaluate together if it is a suitable trip.

 

ARE THERE ANY AGE RESTRICTIONS FOR THIS JOURNEY?

There are no age restrictions. Our staff will help all our guests and make the stay as comfortable as possible.

 

WHICH AIRLINES CAN YOU RECOMMEND TO REACH THE MALDIVES?

The airlines we can recommend are Emirates, Qatar Airways, Etihad Airways and Turkish Airlines.

At the moment there are direct flights to the Maldives from Italy operated by Alitalia.

 

ARE THERE FIXED DAYS FOR THE ARRIVAL AND DEPARTURE?

No, you can choose the day/s that most appropriate in terms of timing, flights and price.

 

DO I NEED A SPECIAL PLUG OR AN ADAPTER?

All our rooms are equipped with universal sockets, so you don’t have to bring any type of adapter with you.

 

WHAT CURRENCY DO THE MALDIVES HAVE?

The local currency is the Maldivian Rufiyaa (1 US $ » 15,42 MVR), but now also American Dollars and Euros are accepted.

 

HOW MANY EXTRA MONEY DO I HAVE TO BRING?

We recommend to bring about 200 US$ per week and person for excursions, souvenirs, tips and further expenses.

 

HOW DO I HAVE TO DRESS ON A LOCAL ISLAND?

We recommend, as a sign of respect for the local culture, wearing a t-shirt, shorts or a sarong while walking through the streets and over the island.

 

CAN I DRINK ALCOHOL ON THE ISLAND?

On local islands it is not possible to buy or drink alcohol. It is also forbidden to take alcohol with you in your suitcase.

 

CAN I FIND A DOCTOR OR AN HOSPITAL ON THE ISLAND?

There is a first aid hospital and a doctor in Thulusdhoo.

But it is still advisable to bring general medicine from your country. We also recommend a travel health insurance. (The travel health insurance is optional.)

 

ARE THERE MOSQUITOES IN THE MALDIVES?

As in most tropical areas, there are mosquitoes in the Maldives. It is advisable to bring an anti-mosquito spray.

 

IS THERE A BIKINI BEACH IN THULUSDHOO?

In Thulusdhoo you will find a wonderful bikini beach with white sand, palm trees, clear water and an offshore reef where you can go snorkelling.

 

CAN WE FIND SUNBEDS AT “BIKINI BEACH”?

At “Bikini Beach” you will find our private sunbeds reserved for Villa Kudì guests.  Here you can relax and enjoy your time at the beach. You can also find shaded areas beneath the palm trees.

 

IS IT POSSIBLE TO GO DIVING IN THULUSDHOO?

WHAT SUN PROTECTION SHOULD I BRING TO MALDIVES?

The sun of the Maldives is very strong and for this reason we recommend a protective factor equal to or greater than 30 SFP and to bring at least one bottle of sun protection per person.

For children we recommend total protection to be applied several times a day and lycras for snorkelling.

 

DO YOU HAVE SNORKELLING EQUIPMENT IN THE VILLA?

Masks plus snorkel and fins will be available for all our guests.

 

IS THERE WI-FI IN THE VILLA?

Villa Kudì Maldives offers free Wi-Fi to all its guests.
